Taxi Driver: Robert Richardson,
I'm a fully licensed and commercially insured Independent taxi driver For Happy Taxi Co of Corona / Riverside Ca, Permitted and fingerprinted by Riverside Police Department, I've been a taxi driver for 9 years, and I don't drink or do drugs, I Have Driven for Paul's Yellow Cab, AA Inland Empire Cab, Yellow Cab and Bell Cab, I speak English as my first language, I will always remind you to check for cell phones etc. when you exit the cab, and I'll give you time to check, when you need an experienced taxi driver, on time taxi service at a low price, for any taxi trip In town or out of town, call me i will save you money,
Reliability: Some drivers will simply not show up or will show up late, depending on whether they get a better ride offer at the same time as yours. This happens most frequently as a dispatched call (you "reserved" a taxi through a taxi dispatch). What you don't realize is that when you "reserve" a cab for a 5:30am "time call" there is no guarantee that any taxi driver will be available in your area and/or will accept your call when it goes out for bid roughly 20-25 minutes prior, say 5:05 or 5:10am. The dispatchers can not force a driver to take the call because all drivers are independent contractors and answer to nobody except themselves. If they don't want to take a call or they would rather take a different call then that's their choice. Oh, sure, the dispatchers will be only too happy to lie to you and say that a taxi is on the way, when it's not, just to get you off the phone. Sorry but that's the ugly truth, that's how it works.
Honesty: How many times have you heard the story or suffered personally where the taxi takes off with your valuables (purse, wallet, luggage, cell phone, laptop computer, etc) and then no matter how many times you call to make a claim or track your items, you never get them back. Some people make the mistake of assuming that if they call a big, well known taxi company 800 number, that company can be held responsible for any lost items, such as when you make a claim with an airline. Well, it doesn't work that way. The first thing that big company will tell you is that they are not responsible for anything, that all their drivers are independent contractors.
No Crazy driving: No drinking, No doing drugs, etc: Taxi drivers are not usually given driving tests in order to get the "job". They have to have a low DMV point score so that is some assurance, but they might have just been lucky enough to not get any tickets lately. They are randomly drug and alcohol-tested but that's no guarantee that they are not partaking and getting away with it somehow. They must pass a Department of Justice background check but that just means that they haven't done anything bad YET. Most of this also pertains to TCP car service drivers.
Experience: Some newer drivers just don't know what they are doing and they don't want to admit it to you and look stupid. Sometimes the best move is just to ask the driver to stop the ride, pay the current meter, then call another cab. This industry attracts lots of desperate jobless people who think it's a quick easy way to make some cash, and most of them don't last for more than a few weeks, if that. What most of them don't know is that it's not that easy, you actually have to put in lots of hours and there are many frustrating things to deal with and things you need to figure out in order to be successful.
I will never ask you to prepay or pay a deposit prior to your pickup, and if you need to cancel or reschedule your ride for any reason, it's ok, and it won't cost you anything.
Please give me a try, I'm confident that you will want to make me your regular driver for many trips in the future. You will find me to be a very friendly and helpful person who will be sensitive to your needs.
In the event of a scheduling conflict, I've got a few high-quality fellow cab driver friends that I can confidently send to you for your trip, with your permission.
